Beef Liver and Onions
February 22, 2025In this easy 30-minute recipe for liver and onions, thin slices of beef liver are seasoned, quickly sauteed in olive oil, and topped with sauteed onions.
Ingredients:
1 lb beef liver, sliced thinly
2 medium onions, sliced into rings
1 cup milk (for soaking)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
3 tbsp butter
2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
Soak liver in milk for 1-2 hours to reduce bitterness. Drain & pat dry.
In a shallow dish, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, & pepper.
Dredge liver slices in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
Heat butter & olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions until caramelized; remove & set aside.
In the same skillet, cook liver slices for 2-3 mins per side until browned but still slightly pink inside.
Serve liver topped with caramelized onions.
