Crispy Fried Mushrooms

These Crispy Fried Mushrooms are the ultimate snack or appetizer. Lightly battered and fried until golden brown, they’re tender on the inside and irresistibly crunchy on the outside. Perfect for parties, game days, or anytime you’re craving a savory bite. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and watch them disappear fast!
Ingredients:
8 oz button mushrooms or baby bella mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup cornstarch
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup cold club soda (or cold water, as needed)
Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)
Instructions:
Prepare the Mushrooms
Clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel — do not soak.
Pat dry thoroughly and set aside.
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or pot, heat about 2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C).
Make the Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Gradually whisk in cold club soda until a thick but pourable batter forms. (Adjust with more soda or flour as needed.)
Fry the Mushrooms
Dip each mushroom into the batter, coating well.
Carefully drop into hot oil and fry in batches for 3–5 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
Serve
Serve immediately with ranch, spicy aioli, or honey mustard.
Storage & Reheating
Best enjoyed fresh
To reheat: place in a hot oven or air fryer for a few minutes to regain crispiness
Not recommended for freezing
