Oklahoma Nut Candy

Oklahoma Nut Candy is an old-fashioned holiday favorite made from a creamy, sugary fudge base packed with toasted pecans or mixed nuts. This rich candy is buttery, crunchy, and melts in your mouth with every bite. Passed down through generations, it’s a cherished treat that’s perfect for gift tins, dessert platters, or enjoying with coffee.
Ingredients:
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup evaporated milk (NOT sweetened condensed)
¼ cup unsalted butter (½ stick)
1 tsp vanilla extract
2½ cups mini marshmallows
2 cups chopped pecans (or mixed nuts)
Optional: ¼ tsp salt if using unsalted butter
Instructions:
Prepare a Pan
Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Set aside.
Boil the Sugar Mixture
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, evaporated milk, and butter.
Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Let boil for 6–7 minutes, continuing to stir, until slightly thickened.
Mix In the Marshmallows
Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract and mini marshmallows until completely melted and smooth.
Add the Nuts
Fold in the chopped pecans (or preferred nuts).
Mix well to distribute evenly.
Set the Candy
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
Smooth the top with a spatula.
Let sit at room temperature for 2–3 hours or until firm.
Cut into squares and serve!

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Add a pinch of cinnamon or a drizzle of melted chocolate for extra flair.
Try using walnuts or cashews for variety.
