Heaven on Earth Cake
February 19, 2025Easy no-bake heaven on earth cake is layered with fluffy angel food cake, sweet-tart cherry pie filling, and creamy pudding layer. A trifle in a 9X13 dish!
Ingredients:
For the Cake Layers:
1 package angel food cake (or 1 prepared angel food cake), cubed
1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup sour cream
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
For the Topping:
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip)
Optional: Chopped almonds or pecans for garnish
Instructions:
Prepare the Cake Base: Cut the angel food cake into cubes and set aside.
Make the Creamy Filling: In a bowl, whisk together vanilla pudding mix and milk until thickened. Add sour cream and softened cream cheese, mixing until smooth.
Assemble the Layers: In a 9×13-inch dish, spread half of the angel food cake cubes. Pour half of the pudding mixture over the cake, spreading evenly.
Repeat with the remaining cake cubes and pudding mixture.
Add the Topping: Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the top. Then, spread the whipped topping over the entire cake.
Chill & Serve: Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight for best results). Sprinkle with chopped nuts before serving if desired.
